Rise Baking Company QA Technician I (2nd and 3rd Shift) in York, Pennsylvania
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for assuring product quality by conducting line audits and inspections, product and ingredient sampling, and finished product scoring. This position also verifies adherence to formulas and procedures; monitors and verifies process controls, sanitation, and GMP practices. Conforms to Good Manufacturing and Safety practices as outlined by company policy.
Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies

Conducts daily QMS audits to ensure process controls are met, documents activities, and brings about corrective action as needed
Routinely conducts statistical weight studies to ensure that component weight standards are met
Addresses Sanitation and GMP deviations on an immediate and ongoing basis and assists in the training and development of production personnel in these key areas.
Conducts incoming material approvals.
Monitors, inspects and tests the products in process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications. Records all information and reports any discrepancies
Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation. Reports any problems immediately.
Assist in the investigation related to customer complaints
Assures that work in progress is held in a manner that precludes deterioration and does not compromise product quality. Assist with the preparation and shipment of samples as needed.
Scores and evaluates product produced daily and communicates the results of same; provides feedback to manufacturing concerning opportunities for improvement.
Coordinates Rise FSMA activities on a shift basis.
Isolates and puts on ?HOLD? any material, product, ingredient, or packaging material which might pose a food safety risk or otherwise compromise product quality or integrity.
Conducts any additional studies, audits, or projects as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.
Create and/or gather sample product for Sales or other requests. Record usages in the inventory database. Coordinates with the Warehouse Department to arrange for delivery of the samples.
Act as a PCQI designee to sign off paperwork, release/hold product, approve incoming materials.
Organize and release donation requests
Understands product specification and makes routine checks to verify equipment performance; adjusts equipment as needed
Performs timely audits on product being produced.
Individual component weight / size checks as required.
Individual component attribute checks as required by the specification sheet.
Audits Baking and icing attributes as required.
Complete first and last case inspections with the Production representative at changeovers to ensure that the final product meets all specifications.
Understand and operates infinity system
Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, wheat, soy, tree nuts.
Participate in Validations.
All employees must keep area clean and be responsible for cleaning during down time, during changeovers and at the end of a shift.
Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic math skills
Ability to operate scales
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Computer Skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, email, internet, and any other databases and software in use at the time)
Background in any type of quality would be a plus
