WellSpan Health FMLA Utilization Management Nurse (RN) in York, Pennsylvania

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday

Day shift

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Manager-FMLA Services, manages leaves of absence under federal and state laws and employer policies. Acts as a liaison between employer, employee and healthcare providers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Manages intermittent, continuous and client specific leaves of absences.

2 Determines eligibility under federal and state requirements for leaves submitted.

3 Reviews medical leave documents provided by employee and health care provider.

4 Determines the duration associated with the leave based on the information given by the healthcare provider.

5 Communicates approvals, denials, leave extensions, and other information regarding the leave to the employee and employer.

6 Manages leaves that are concurrent with short term disability and workers’ compensation.

7 Processes all leaves within the specific timeframes outlined by the regulations and WellSpan guidelines.

8 Assists with the collection and analysis of utilization patterns and denied cases.

9 Brings known or suspected problems of under-, over-, or inappropriate utilization of resources to the attention of the appropriate manager(s).

10 Coordinates requests to maintain ADA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Associate's Degree

  • Minimum Experience: 2 - 3 years

  • Pref Field Of Expertise: Experience working in Human Resources with specific responsibility for leave of absence administration or management preferred

  • Req Cert/Registration: Registration and current RN license in PA
