The Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS);Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC)is recruiting to fill multiple limited term employment Groundskeepers in Chippewa Falls, WI.
NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by the Division of Care and Treatment Services. Clickhereto see what working for NWC is all about!
These positions will primarily work 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with the potential for night or weekend hours. A $.45 night differential and a $.60 weekend differential will be paid for all eligible hours worked.

LTE positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to a permanent civil service classified position, and do not lead to permanent status.
Wisconsin residency is required for LTE positions.
No more than 1039 hours may be worked in one year.
Responsibilities include a variety of grounds keeping activities to maintain and improve the grounds, roadways, recreational trails, and sidewalks of the Northern Center complex including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, maintenance of roadways, parking lots, sidewalks and fences. This position also performs preventative/corrective maintenance to the equipment and fleet vehicles as needed. This position will provide assistance to the maintenance staff when needed and could work outside of the normally scheduled hours and requires a valid Wisconsin driver-s license, so as to maintain driving privileges for state owned vehicles.
All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
These positions require a valid driver's license, and the ability to meet the requirements to operate a state vehicle.

Experience following safety practices and procedures.
