FOOD PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
The Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS);Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC)is recruiting to fill a Food Production Assistant in Chippewa Falls, WI.
NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by the Division of Care and Treatment Services. Clickhereto see what working for NWC is all about!

Position Summary:
This position is a lead worker responsible for the preparation and distribution of food items. This position is also responsible for directing, assigning and reviewing the work of the cooks in quantity food production and service activities, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards.
Special Notes:
All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to: lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, kneeling, and stooping. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
Experience with basic sanitation, hand washing, and safety standards in a food service environment.
Experience working as a member of a team.
Effective communication skills.
The ability to work scheduled hours, which may include weekends, holidays, early morning or early evenings, and overtime as needed.
Well-qualified candidates will have:
Experience with quantity food preparation in a medical setting.
Experience with standardized recipes or specialized diets.
Experience leading, guiding, or training other staff.
