This position is in schedule-range 02-11. Starting pay is $16.71hour, with $1.40/hr. increase after one year of satisfactory performance. Reclass to the Senior level is typically after 18 months of service, and receives at least $19.54/hr. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be determined in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan.

TheWisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking to fill aDMV Customer Service Representative position inCrandon, WI located at 110 S. Lake Avenue, Crandon, WI 54520 and inFlorence, WIlocated at 4793 Forestry Drive, Florence, WI 54121. This position would be headquartered at the Crandon Customer Service Center 50% of the time and at the Florence Customer Service Center 50% of the time. Position Summary:

This DMV Customer Service Representative position is located at the Crandon and Florence Customer Service Centers, and provides face-to-face customer support on driver licensing and vehicle registration. This includes issuing driver-s licenses, ID cards, instruction permits, motor vehicle registrations, vehicle titles, and license plates. The position determines and collects appropriate fees from customers. These positions also work with customers who need to obtain an ID for voting purposes. In addition to in-person work, this position does some online processing of other types of work.

Special Notes:

Possession of a valid driver license will be required for positions that train on or perform driver license examining. Positions performing these functions eventually have the potential to make no less than $21.12/hr after a period of time.

Prior to any appointment for positions filled from this recruitment, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

Some positions may require travel to different service centers on a daily basis.


A qualified candidate will have experience with all of the following:

  • Identifying and resolving problems for one or more customer(s) in a face-to-face customer service role.

  • Reading and interpreting laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or other complex documents.

  • Performing cash handling transactions.

In addition to the above, a well-qualified candidate will have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Multi-tasking while ensuring accuracy within their work.

  • Working in a role in which the primary duties of a job are customer service.
