About This Role
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
Participating in the detailed design of Aerostructure Components on a flight vehicle in the Strategic Missiles Business Line
Leading Design projects and oversee the work of junior engineers
Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical systems primarily for military and aerospace applications
Having expertise in the application of Mechanical Design with demonstrated skills using Unigraphics (UG) NX (version 1899 or greater) and strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, military standards and specifications, manufacturing and assembly processes
Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings
Transitioning product design to production and test
Understanding forming methodologies for aerostructure materials
Performing analysis of basic structures using ANSYS Mechanical
Performing detailed design of high stiffness low weight structural aerospace vehicles
Writing technical and proposal documents
Designing results will be summarized in detailed design reports and presentations
Presenting design and analysis results to internal and external customers at program reviews
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of related experience
Demonstrated skills using Unigraphics (UG) NX (version 1899 or greater)
Good understanding of the following areas: ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, military standards and specifications, manufacturing and assembly processes
Ability to prepare and direct high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings primarily for military applications
Structural analysis experience in mechanical and thermal stress with analytical skills to validate design solutions for basic use of ANSYS Mechanical Finite Element Analysis desirable
Experience in creating and transitioning product design to production and test
Demonstrated experience with detailed design of high stiffness low weight structural aerospace vehicles
Proficiency in writing skills and with aptitude for both technical and proposal styles
Strong verbal communication skills
Active Secret clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required
