OneMain Financial VP/MD Transformation in Wilmington, Delaware

Role Summary

The individual will be responsible for transforming OMF’s customer facing and non-customer facing processes/ activities to help move the company forward on its key strategic deliverables, including omni-channel and digital transformation. The individual will set the tone, challenge current thinking and initiate significant enhancements to complex processes/ engagement models and improve user experience in all channels through creative thinking and effective challenge. In addition, the individual will be responsible for driving efficiencies that reduce OMF’s operating expense and improve the operating model. The role requires assertive leadership that hold teams/ individuals accountable for delivery of results while ensuring high levels of employee engagement.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead, establish and oversee the Re-engineering groups, ensuring a predictive and efficient set of processes and tools to support operations and the monitoring & reporting of key metrics

  • Create and lead enterprise-wide process reengineering management

  • Identify strategic priorities and executives’ mission-critical objectives respectively

  • Incorporate agile ways of working to accelerate transformation. promotes experimentation and learning and embed it in execution and company culture.

  • Provide oversight to ensure adequate program governance for function-specific projects (i.e., “oversight projects”)

  • Work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop strategic initiatives

  • Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria and communication to leadership

  • Strategically advises on project and practice integration/transformation priorities, options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impacts on other business processes and system priorities


We seek an accomplished executive with a persuasive leadership style who has experience leading a Transformation team and identifying and driving large scale and strategic opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic and execution skills at the enterprise level, along with exceptional influencing skills. S/he will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and delivering cost-effective and qualitative execution. This individual must be commercially-inclined with a proven record of creating tangible business value through the alignment of technology and business interests.

  • Demonstrated 10+ years of experience directing a transformation team

  • Demonstrated minimum 5+ years of experience leading teams/supervising employees

  • Demonstrated proficiency and strength in communication, cross-functional team building, matrix management, and creative problem solving

  • Experience with company and system integrations as a result of M&A

  • 10+ years Lean / Six Sigma black belt certification and/or experience, required

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and high EQ

  • Must have ability to work in fast paced and high-volume work environment, asses and solve problems and handle multiple tasks/priorities while maintaining accuracy

  • Time management and planning/prioritization skills

  • Management, development/coaching and delegation skills

  • Demonstrated experience/skills with MS Office applications including Excel, MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook

Year-One Critical Success Factors

There are several large-scale projects and initiatives that the new Transformation MD/VP will be stepping into when joining OMF. Specifically, s/he will be tasked with the following milestone objectives:

  • Develop and build rapport, credibility and partnership with the business leaders and senior executive team across the organization.

  • Create a centralized Transformation function with a sophisticated governance structure which aligns to company vision and commercial goals.

  • Consolidate, rationalize and prioritize existing opportunities across the enterprise.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/ Masters preferred
