Abbott Diagnostics is looking for a

Market Access Manager & Strategic Alliances Europe (m/f/d)

based in one of the Abbott business locations in Europe who will be responsible for proactively assessing trends, policies and emerging changes in public health policy rules and strategically supports the business in Europe through the development and execution of market access strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Align business strategies across the EU region with public health policy, changes and trends

  • Serve as an integrated strategic business partner and resource to develop and deliver comprehensive programs based on public health needs and business objectives

  • Analyze public policies, guidelines and funding mechanisms, create compelling strategies and value propositions including generation of clinical data and evidence to support access to funding. Find and develop business opportunities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with major stakeholders – Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Governments (Ministry of Health), advocacy groups, KOLs and key customers

  • Participate / manage / lead development and execution of key projects and programs

  • Reports to the Director Market Access & Strategic Alliances Europe, Africa, Middle East, Turkey & Russia

Qualification:

  • University degree with focus on Medical, Economics or Science; MBA is a plus

  • 5+ years business experience in Market Access/Government affairs/ Business Development

  • Experience in Medical Device / healthcare B2B international company. Experienced in managing B2B customers including state owned accounts

  • Strong knowledge of medical device industry, reimbursement systems, understand principles of business and exhibits strategic thinking. Strong experience in healthcare environment and familiarity with Non - Governmental-Organizations, Governmental agencies, funds and Key Opinion Leaders

  • Knowledge of healthcare economics

  • Project management, public policy experience with government programs

  • Lobbying experience

  • Understanding of international EU healthcare policy and regulations preferably France and Germany

  • Project management skills, selling skills, negotiations, presentations, communication skills

  • Strong co-operator and team player

  • Focused on building long term business

  • Strategic thinking and able to make things happen

  • Extensive travel ability, up to 50%

  • Fluent in English
