Develop and manage a high performing agile team responsible for procurement, warehousing, distribution, and Fleet Management operations and administration. Relentless commitment to partner and collaborate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations and administration ensuring regulatory and policy compliant results. Delegates work, establishes priorities and deadlines, and communicates expectations. May review, quality check, or approve work at various stages.

  • Plan and implement annual initiatives that may affect resources or goals across departments. Forecast product needs, pricing changes, and margin changes. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, resource constraints, and negotiate solutions.

  • Oversee the procurement and warehousing of Funeral and Cemetery products controlling inventory levels. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.

  • Manage vendor against contractual service level expectations; resolve issues. Assess vendors analyzing pricing changes, contract compliance, and service. Collaborate with Corporate Pricing or Supply Chain departments as needed to facilitate issue resolution.

  • Source local vendors for non-industry related products. Along with the Director, negotiate pricing and contractual terms. Facilitate contract approvals and implementation.

  • Optimize warehousing of products ensuring a safe work environment. Oversee the accurate receipt of undamaged goods. Distribute products across the company to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Ensure fleet availability meets requests by scheduling, forecasting, and reviewing trends. Schedule, plan, and oversee routine and ad hoc maintenance; renewing fleet vehicle registration and obtaining registration tags for new vehicles. Streamline and monitor fuel purchase program.

  • Identifies and implements innovative solutions improving efficiencies. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; quickly adjusts to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.

Leadership and People Development

  • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Provide oversight, guidance, and coaching including regular informal and formal feedback, identifying developmental needs, and tracking progress. Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.

  • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements.

  • Build effective business relationships across the organization

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associate’s degree with an emphasis on Supply Chain procurement and logistics will substitute for 2 years of work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related discipline will substitute for 4 years of work experience.

  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Experience

  • At least eight (8) years’ experience including a combination of supply chain, logistics, procurement, warehouse, and/or fleet management with increasing responsibilities.

  • Experience successfully managing staff, communicating expectations, and assessing performance

  • Demonstrate knowledge and appropriate application of regulations, policies, and procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Leadership skills and the desire to manage people

  • Cognitive Ability including reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, learn from experience, and appropriately apply learning to new situations.

  • Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by removing obstacles and exploring alternatives

  • Applies best practices in documenting business requirements in an iterative way, particularly using agile methodologies

  • Ability to create clear reports and data visualizations to assist in decision-making and problem analysis

  • Conversant in technical discipline acumen

  • Must have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and highly self-motivated

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills including public speaking, collaboration, and negotiation

  • Proficient MS Office Suite skills

  • Software data base skills proficient to enter data and run standard reports

Work Environment

  • Work is both in an office and outside environment outside in a variety of weather conditions. Standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending while on pavement and uneven ground. Work seated and/or standing and walking in a carpeted, air-conditioned office where noise level can be quiet to loud. Work under deadlines, and maintain high accuracy and customer service.

  • Ability to work in a grieving and emotional environment.

  • Ability to push or pull up to _ pounds
