Cleveland Clinic Senior Financial Analyst - Planning and Healthcare Analytics in Weston, Florida

Provides analytical and consultative support to key departmental management and stakeholders through the evaluation and understanding of how departmental financial information is integrated into the day-to-day operations. Uses in-depth knowledge of the organization's information structure to formulate analysis. Assists in the planning, budgeting, financial reporting and financial support of all clinical, operational departments and service lines. Interprets data requests from users and identifies the correct venue for information and its translation into understandable terms.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial support in various areas for both the Hospital and the Clinic, including, but not limited to: the development and monitoring of both capital and operating budgets; participation in the development of tactical plans and their implementation; participating in the development of forecasts and budgets; presentation and interpretation of financial information to senior executives, physicians and front line managers; and suggesting activities that will improve efficiencies, contribution margin or financial performance.

  • Implements and maintains reporting systems which support the planning and monitoring of financial performance.

  • Supports the planning process for those areas to which the individual is assigned and is responsible for incorporation of those plans into Florida's budget and forecast.

  • Provides a high level of data support to clinical, support and service line areas. Makes recommendations regarding financial software used by key customers. This includes generating, gathering, researching and analyzing all pertinent financial information.

  • Systems that the incumbent must be familiar with and competent to extract data include: EPIC, business repository, general ledger, etc.

  • The incumbent must have a clear understanding of Florida's revenue cycle.

  • Manages financial reporting systems, which includes: implementation, maintenance, balancing financial data, maintaining database integrity, maintaining comparability, timely reporting and response to information requests on a timely basis.

  • Assists in business development projects.

  • Plans and organizes activities in an effective manner.

  • Organizes work and establishes appropriate time frames to ensure targeted results and customer needs are met.

  • Provides tactical and financial support to the executive team and program leaders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with a major in Finance or Accounting required.

  • Highly developed knowledge of: financial systems (general ledger, materials management, billing, etc.), financial, database and graphics software.

Certifications:

MBA preferred

Work Experience:

  • Three to five years of financial experience; healthcare experience preferred.

  • Good presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Professional appearance and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel between entities and attend out of area conferences.

  • Physical Duties: This position requires prolonged periods of sitting with a light amount of physical work, with maximum lifting of 20 pounds and frequent lifting and carrying of documents weighing up to 10 pounds. Activities may include reaching, pulling, pushing, bending and stooping. Working Conditions: This individual spends almost 100% of his/her time in an air conditioned building.
