Robert Half International Short Term Full Charge Bookkeeper in Westminster, California

Description

The Full Charge Bookkeeper position Accountemps is currently filling and could be a good fit for you. The short-term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Westminster, California and has the potential to become temporary to full-time. In this position, you will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

  • Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents

  • Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements

  • Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

  • Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing

  • Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections

Requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Excel and Sage Peachtree experience desired

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

  • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in Sage Peachtree Windows

  • Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Prior payroll experience required

  • Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
