Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time Day


You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Works in collaboration with other departments (i.e. guest services, Surgery, Radiology, Therapy, ED, Inspiration Place, Cath Lab, etc.) to design and deliver the ultimate consumer experience

  • Participate and collaborate hospital leadership and other hospital staff to continuously raise the level of service provided to the hospital’s customers

  • Implements standardized patient/family education on conduct while visiting our facilities (spiritual care connection, smoking rules, etc.)

  • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers, in person or on the telephone. Focus on high level of customer service with internal and external customers.

  • Respects patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities to improve processes, patient care and customer experience.

  • Participates in developing realistic and innovative performance goals, providing ongoing reports, and communicating to staff on regular basis

  • Trains and mentors staff members to perform their duties within the mission, vision, values and goals of the organizations and the highest level of customer service. Collaborates with Division Patient Financial Services and Patient Experience team for training.

  • Monitors departmental activity to assure compliance with regulatory agencies, corporate policies or third-party payers

  • Maintains a strong pre-admission program to maximize available processing time between patient scheduling and patient arrival for testing/surgery. Minimizes direct patient contact upon pre-scheduled patients arrival to the hospital. Ensures scheduled patients are pre-registered, including insurance verification of benefits and patient notification of co-payment due at time of admission.

  • Monitors patient wait time and continually strives to minimize the amount of time patients wait from point of arrival to registration and referral to medical service area

  • Oversees deployment, implementation and staff adoption of department related technology, i.e. patient portal, biometric scanners, etc.

What You Will Need:
  • Must possess an in-depth understanding of Patient Access functions and processes and how to develop and manage relationships with physicians, nursing, ancillary departments and staff. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of health insurance and manage care payer guidelines and practices.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public and Staff.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Maintain Staffing Schedules
  • Leadership Skills
  • Previous experience in a medical setting, ie. Physician Office, Hospital, Etc preferred.

  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • Working Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and other third party insurance preferred.

  • High School Diploma or GED upon hire
  • Supervisory experience in a patient registration setting upon hire
  • Three years’ experience in a Patient Access Service Environment preferred

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Patient Access Director, the Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the overall Patient Access operations for Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel. Major responsibilities include the timely, accurate and effective registration of patients receiving a broad range of hospital services.
