We are seeking a Clinical Support Assistant in the Emergency Department in Wausau, WI at Aspirus Wausau Hospital . This individual will greet and register patients seeking care in our high volume Emergency Department. The Clinical Support Assistant is responsible for initiating transfers of patients to in-house status and out of hospital facilities, answering and routing phone calls for physicians, requesting medical records, managing on-call schedule for physicians, obtaining insurance information and setting up new medical records in EPIC.
Knowledge of office procedures in a healthcare environment normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with formal typing/computer courses beneficial.
Acute care environment experience beneficial
Possesses knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy to process orders accurately.
Possesses basic computer skills as determined by House-wide Education Council.
First Aid training preferred
Hours: Occasional, 12-hour shifts, weekend & holiday rotation.
