What you’ll be doing…

We are looking for an experienced and strategic audience marketer with a deep understanding of Tableau's core audience (analysts and business professionals), all facets of the Tableau platform,and a passion for helping these people realize the value of Tableau in their organization.

The Senior Audience Marketing Manager for the Core Audience is a critical role on our Audience and Industry Strategy team, and a significant contributor to Tableau’s growth efforts. As an expert in – and advocate for – the analyst and business user audience, this individual will be responsible for setting the global marketing vision and strategy, including the creation of effective messaging and positioning, content, and sales enablement.

This is a key role that requires the right balance of strategic thinking with a strong roll-up your sleeves and 'get it done' mentality.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Assess market landscape, trends and opportunities, and evaluate priorities within the segment to set the strategic focus.

  • Use your deep understanding of the Tableau platform to identify customer needs and understand the primary drivers for consideration.

  • Maintain and update detailed personas for this audience segment, capturing behaviors and sentiments as market trends evolve.

  • Adapt messaging from Tableau’s brand team for the Core Audience, as well as positioning for our analyst and business user customers.

  • Support the Tableau sales team with demos, playbooks, presentations and audience knowledge. Work with the Sales Readiness team to educate and inform the sales teams on how to communicate the value of Tableau to this audience.

  • Work with our customer evidence team to identify champions and capture customer stories that demonstrate the value of Tableau.

  • Act as an audience subject matter expert, regularly monitor buying trends, and engage in related associations and forums. Work closely with the Product Marketing team to ensure the voice of the customer is taken into account to capitalize on important features and

  • Provide market insights and guidance that inform our demand generation and thought leadership efforts; serve as a primary content and subject matter expert.

  • Be a strong voice representing our analyst and business user customers across all conversations and projects; opportunities to present to audiences at live meetings, webinars, and a variety of events and tradeshows.

  • Create content for tradeshows and signature events to inspire and compel the Core Audience to dive deeper into data and Tableau

  • Partner with Journey Marketing Team to build and maintain a comprehensive journey for both personas within the Core Audience

Who you are…

Domain. Audience expertise and strong audience marketing skills: experience creating personas and messaging for various audience segments. Familiarity with enterprise software trends, buying patterns, and organizational behavior/trends.

Experienced & Strategic. 10+ years in an audience marketing, product marketing or product management role, or equivalent experience.

Customer obsessed. Deep understanding of our analysts and business user customers, their pain points, and the context in which they work both in their day-to-day as well as within their organizations.

Data-Driven. Curiosity for data and our customers. Understanding of basic analytical and statistical techniques and how they bring value to our customers. Ability to perform primary and secondary research. Tableau product knowledge is strongly desired.

Energy and Enthusiasm. Enthusiasm for a fast-growing, fast-changing environment. Strong entrepreneurial drive.

Strong Communication and Presentation Skills. Excellent writing ability, including the ability to communicate technical concepts. Strong storytelling and presentation skills. The ability to write clear and compelling copy for the website, the press and other outlets

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $128,000. You may also be entitled to receive incentive compensation and benefits.
