Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Nuclear/Air-to-surface Weapons SME to join our team in the Washington, DC area. You will Provide on-site support and analysis to the government on Air Force and DoD level nuclear weapons and their associated systems, including system acquisition and life cycle management programs, budgeting, and policy and programming for the office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Special Programs. Use your in-depth understanding of nuclear weapons, warfighter capability and requirements, DoD system acquisition, programs and defense policy to evaluate issues and provide recommendations at the Director/GO/SES level on nuclear weapons portfolio. You must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.

As a Nuclear/Air-to-surface Weapons SME with MTSI you will provide the US Air Force Advanced Management Office (AMO) with Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to achieve cost-effective, long-term, critical capabilities to support the war-fighting mission of the combatant commanders. This position will be located on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, DC.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
You will supports acquisition oversight and portfolio management activities including working groups and integrated product teams.
Develope issue papers and communicates positions to senior DoD executives;
Drafts and reviews briefings and their background material.
Reviews and recommends improvements to acquisition documents, policies and presentations.
Provides staff support to program element monitors, community level working groups and inter-agency councils.
Prepares read ahead documents and talking points; supports program reviews and develops recommendations
Supports and develops responses to GAO and Congress; performs security reviews, interfaces with industry.
Participates in reviews, studies, analysis of alternatives, and coordinates initiatives across external offices and agencies.
15+ years' of relevant DoD work experience in Systems Engineering.
HQ/AF Staff officer experience - knows HQ USAF staffing processes.
Weapons experience – operational experience and familiar with air-to-surface munitions or nuclear ICBMs, and some technical knowledge on how they work.
Able to brief senior leadership, deal effectively with strong personalities.
Technical background in engineering or physics.
- DAWIA certified
- Master's degree in a Technical engineering field (e.g., engineering or physics)
TS/SCI with previous SAP experience - needs 5 years’ experience working with SAPs.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
