Toeroek Associates, Inc. (Toeroek) is seeking general interest applicants for a junior National Security Analyst to serve as an Action Officer and may provide support for arms control, nonproliferation, counter-proliferation activities, treaty support, and/or general weapons of mass destruction related policy for an anticipated contract. The position location will be in the Virginia or DC area, depending on the contract assignment. The key to this role is being flexible while likely being assigned to support various projects.
Provides analyses and reports in the form of standard correspondence (Executive Summaries, Information Papers, Memoranda, briefings, etc.), to assess the impacts of USG policy guidance, military Services Staff, OSD, and Joint Staff implementation guidance, and current DoD planning.
Evaluates and provides recommendations on the scope of the following as they relate to USG, DoD, and Service-related nonproliferation policy: international implementation and compliance reporting and certification requirements; inspection and visit requirements; data exchange and declaration requirements; notification requirements; nonproliferation policy; security cooperation and partnering activities; arms control treaties, agreements, and initiatives; export control regimes; conventional weapons and emerging arms control initiatives.
Develop to become a Project Lead and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas related to policy and support within the WMD community over time.
May support operations, program management, and analytical reviews.
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience in arms control, nonproliferation, counter-proliferation, or combating weapons of mass destruction (CWMD).
ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED WITH ELIGIBILITY FOR TS/SCI (an Interim Secret might be accepted pending contract requirement specifics) before starting work.
Working knowledge of national security issues, arms control, and treaties required.
Previous Action Officer (staff support) experience desired.
