Responsibilities

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Energy sector Cyber Security sales professional with extensive knowledge in NERC-CIP to drive Business Development (BD) for our growing Energy Consulting practice. The Business Development Director (Cyber Security- CIP) will develop and manage a pipeline, build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, support marketing events, drive the end-to-end sales process (pre-sales conversations, proposal development, client presentations). The Business Development Director (Cyber Security- CIP) will be supported by our subject matter specialists to enable growth and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new Cyber Security revenue opportunities in Utilities for Guidehouse Commercial Energy Providers practice. Offerings include Cyber Security, Cyber Security Compliance, Physical Security, and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

  • Build relationships and engage in activity designed to generate qualified leads, which will then be closed by Risk, Compliance and Security practitioners

  • Support our national business development outreach initiatives, which will require the BDD to initiate and organize meetings and phone calls with prospective clients, prepare letters and email, and participate in preparation of sales collateral

  • Facilitate successful customer meetings and presentations

  • Stay on top of market trends and changes, be aware of new technologies and how it plays a role in our practice development and partnerships with technology vendors

  • Identify and support key marketing events relevant to state and local information security leaders

  • Travel 50% required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience managing a pipeline of six and seven figure engagements

  • Must have a minimum of 10 years working with Utilities organizations/Energy companies in a Security role plus 5 years of Security business development experience in the Utilities/Energy sector.

  • Strong business network of Utility Security professionals and leaders

  • Experience working for a management consulting firm servicing Energy and or Utilities clients

  • The position requires a “walking the halls” mentality incorporating networking skills, trust, relationship management, and connecting people

  • Comfortable with demonstrating and presenting cyber security services

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Passion for delivering value to clients and driving client success

  • Ability to travel 50% expected

  • Currently reside in the domestic United States

    Preferred Qualifications In addition to the above qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA

  • One or more of the following Security certifications: CISSP, CEH, CRISC, CISM, or CISA

  • Demonstrated understanding of Cyber Security principles, processes, and Standards including but not limited to NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards, NIST, and ISO 27000
