Atlas Research Director of Business Development Operations in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia
The DBDO will coordinate and participate in business operations by directing and managing all systems, processes, policy and personnel working in the Atlas Pre-Capture Team. He/She will report to the Vice President of the Business Development Center of Excellence (BDCoE) with coordination activities, direct support to the Capture, Proposal, Contracts and Pricing Teams. The DBDO leads all Atlas Pre-Capture, Market Sensing, Opportunity Identification and Validation, Research in support of Gap Analysis, Partner and Competitor Assessments activities. Provides direction to the IDIQ/Vehicle PMO and Atlas Pipeline Management System (APMS). Manages the companies Pre-Capture and Capture activities to ensure that pursued opportunities are prepared for Gate Reviews and CBIs
Work requires directing the organization's business units to achieve competitive positioning through marketing, sales, and business development plans. The DBDO provides the support and resources required by the business units to manage and develop business opportunities. The DBDO scrutinizes APMS for obsolescence, business projections, proposals submitted, contracts awarded and contract performance and contracts approaching culmination of period of performance to initiate tasks to reposition company for re-competition and award of the same. The DBD approves for recommendation all pursue/no pursue and works with the Director of Proposal Management on bid/no bid decision and allocation of resources required to develop proposals, exhibits, oral presentations, travel, materials and conferences.
The DBDO will focus a significant part of his/her time on using his experience and specific skills sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization. The DBDO facilitates the development, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational plans, and is responsible for preparing the organization for ongoing change. Additionally, the DBDO ensures clarity, understanding and commitment from all stakeholders.
The DBDO will ensure all BD Operational matters are conducted within the guidelines and directives of all Company Policies, Local, State and Federal laws. Continuously work to increase understanding and knowledge of BD operations and all staff support actions to insure everyone remains focused on accomplishing all assigned duties.
Actively identify and evaluate potential, leading to successful contracts or partnerships
Lead and/or support communications including initial presentations, diligence visits, deal negotiations and other activities needed to complete partnership transactions
Network with other businesses, government agencies, and academia to keep the company abreast of industry trends and partnership opportunities
Assist Executive Management Team in updating and executing a corporate and business development strategy
Support other BDCoE and Corporate Development functions including analysis, and resource prioritization as needed.
Undergraduate degree, with strong emphasis in business, law and economics. MBA is preferred
Substantial experience in industry, business development, strategic communication, and consulting
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Must be able to lead multi-disciplinary teams
Expected travel post COVID (25%)
