Itron Firmware and Hardware Integration Test Engineer in Waseca, Minnesota

Itron is looking for an Integration and Test Engineer with experience in hardware and embedded firmware development and testing environments and is extremely creative and detail oriented. You will be responsible for scoping, planning, and executing tests of new and existing features across multiple projects. You will work with hardware and firmware design engineers to develop and manage validation by developing and implementing quality processes and test infrastructure. Testing will include a hardware element: temperature characterization, voltage and current characterization, peripheral integration and validation, RF analysis and validation, etc. It will also include a software element: regression testing, functional validation, error handling, performance testing, etc. This type of testing will be performed while units are operating under various solution configurations. You will become a subject matter expert on how to operate the hardware the team is developing, in the various configurations and networks. Key Functions Primary role for validating hardware under various network configurations Automate the testing and data collection for Devices Under Test Develop plans for test, conduct plan reviews, execute and trouble shoot testing Develop regression test suites for firmware releases and execute them Develop scripts and set up servers and equipment for automated testing and data storage/reporting Develop solutions for automated parametric data collection (e.g. current consumption, frequency, etc.) Develop circuits for testing interfaces Automated measurements with lab equipment Experience: This position requires relevant experience after college graduation Demonstrated strong problems solving skills Demonstrated experience with instrumentation for development, test, and analysis. (i.e. compilers, code de-buggers, oscilloscopes, network analyzer, modulation analyzer, logic analyzer, etc.) Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Able to lead a design review Solid hardware troubleshooting skills Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar Travel: 1 - 10% If you require an accommodation in order to apply to this position, please contact your local recruiting representative at 1-800-635-5461 or email .
