Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and directs material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
Maintains consolidated sales forecasts in the MRP (Material Resource Planning) system.
Using the MRP system, translates the consolidated sales forecasts into a master production schedule / build schedule.
Performs load leveling on the build plan to allow for resource restrictions. Generates requisitions to buy materials.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, shop load, and inventory requirements.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
Work consists of making basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems. Identifies, defines and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area.
Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis.
Work closely with multiple job functions.
Organized and ability to communicate effectively in front of crowds.
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
