Writer, Church and Ministry Alliance

Alliance Defending Freedom is seeking a highly creative Writer, Church and Ministry Alliance located in our Scottsdale, AZ or Ashburn, VA office. As a writer for resource development you are a vital part of the US Legal Division Team. In this role, you will report to a Legal Counsel who is tasked with overseeing the development of legal resources. As a writer with familiarity with current issues facing ministries, you will focus on resource development for religious organizations. You will work closely with the Church and Ministry Alliance team and in conjunction with the communications and legal teams to create helpful resources that explain the legal landscape to constituents, ministries, the public, and, in particular, members of the Church and Ministry Alliance. This will include drafting a variety of educational materials that provide general information on key legal and public policy topics, under the guidance of the legal counsel for resource development.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Conduct research and stay up to date on ADF legal and policy matters, strategies, and areas of focus.

  • Confer with colleagues on the legal and communications team to execute creation and production of informative and practical resources of the highest quality.

  • Find creative ways to communicate important legal concepts to a public, Christian audience.

  • Cooperate with Legal, Church and Ministry Alliance, Communications, and Development teams.

  • Draft and produce educational guidelines and other written materials to be distributed to clients, the public, or to members of the Church and Ministry Alliance.

  • Develop means to assess and stay up to date on needs of Christian Ministries and other constituents to have continued or updated resources.

  • Collaborate with cross-teams to finalize and distribute the written resources.

Education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5+ years of experience in communications, public policy, and government affairs
