USAA Workforce Planning Analyst Senior in United States

Purpose of Job

Guides and facilitates cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of business solutions. Independently performs complex work assignments and problem resolution across systems, processes or channels, to include business-related analyses and research in one or more of the following areas: workforce planning, monthly workforce forecasting, and hiring/separation trends. Utilizes complex statistical techniques to identify trends in data and to uncover causes and consequences of events.

Job Requirements

Tasks:

Participates with and coordinates analytical support for key decision makers in setting business goals, objectives, strategies and action plans.

Provides insight and guides management on issues.

Teams with the business to define data needs and requirements to develop workforce forecast reports that solve business problems and reporting needs.

Prepares operational and strategic briefing materials for senior management in support of major programs and functions.

Identifies opportunities and potential solutions.

Synthesizes analyses, identifies root cause(s) and provides recommendations that influence business solutions.

Determines optimum methodology for retrieving and analyzing current and historical data.

Responsible for purity and accuracy of the workforce forecast.

Acquires and applies advanced knowledge of the business, channels and their applications and processes.

Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline required.

  • 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 or more years of experience with data analysis tools and techniques, statistics, and industry data sources required.

  • Advanced knowledge of the function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required.

  • Advanced level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.

  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to establishment of reporting requirements and translate requirements into effective, automated reporting solutions

  • Experience establishing and cultivating relationships with business partners to produce workforce forecasts, including mastery over all of the elements that comprise a workforce forecast

  • Deep understanding of – and experience with – managing performance against Plan or forecast targets with business partners, including variance analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to generate scenarios to provide business partners and their leaders with range of alternatives, with insight into implications of each

  • Professional certification – or equivalent experience – that speaks to candidate’s mastery of the workforce forecasting function

  • Confident communicator/presenter; comfortable representing ideas and making your case with leadership at all levels

  • Critical thinker, heavily reliant on root cause analysis

  • Balance between process and strategic orientation
