Software Configuration Manager/Technical Writer
RG is looking for a Software Configuration Management/Technical Writer to support our Air Force Agile development project team in providing high-quality technological expertise and support developing a compelling and modernized customer experience for our client’s enterprise level planning and scheduling software platform.
A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear and practical approach to managing the coordination and administration of CM activities and principles within a fast-paced Agile development team.
A Day In the Life:
As an integral member of our iterative Agile development team the chosen candidate will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You will work alongside our team of SW engineers and developers, enterprise testers, business analysts, and UX design team to implement business solutions focusing on improving the user experience and optimizing the overall product experience for the USAF user community.
Specific responsibilities include:
Plan and execute CM throughout the Agile project lifecycle, including design, development, migration, deployment, security, and sustainment
Formulates procedures for and executes the introduction of changes to engineering documents
Monitor the review of released engineering change data and change documentation activities to ensure adherence to CM procedures and policies
Advises the Agile development team regarding CM aspects for projects, tasks, and operations
Oversee the PM Configuration Management activities and perform in-depth CM analyses for existing and future CM processes and develop measurements to monitor key phases of the CM process
Prepare, maintain, and submit on an interval basis, various technical documentation deliverables to the program manager while following the release of the appropriate release schedule
Assist the technical lead in performing deployment/release audits
Collaborating and coordinating in a consistent manner with the development team to ensure CM standards are followed, development best practices are employed, along with the sharing of knowledge and lessons learned
Working within established development guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions and possess the ability to prioritize and work within strict time frames
The ability and willingness to manage multiple branches and work threads, structure those threads in a viable order of execution, and engage with upper management to set thread priorities
When the need presents itself, function as a supplemental software tester when a testing surge is needed

RG’s software is used by the Department of Defense for the planning, scheduling, and management of critical maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities supporting warfighter readiness, requiring the user experience to be clear, consistent, and efficient.
The ideal candidate will be in a position to apply relevant systems engineering and development skills in an Agile environment while working as a member of the software development team and be responsible for maintaining the software products and answering questions from the field concerning configuration and development issues as they relate to customer/client support.
A Consultant is an exempt customer-facing business professional that provides a variety of information directly to customers for their ongoing programs, new initiatives, strategic planning, and measurement/evaluation in one or more of RG's solutions. They possess excellent customer service skills, remain current on industry trends, value team work, and have a wide range of interpersonal skills.
To be successful in this role, all candidates must meet the below qualifications to be considered.
2+ years experience performing software configuration management to include the following:
Well versed in using various CM tools and resources such as Subversion (SVN), Git, etc. to include working in branches
Experience managing the document configuration of Microsoft Office documents
Experience in developing, implementing, and managing CI/CD processes
Knowledge of Agile software design and development processes
Ability to collaborate with and share knowledge with coworkers to achieve strategic goals
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across management, staff, and multiple Agile delivery teams
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to obtain a NACI
Ability to travel nationwide for potential client meetings

AA/AS Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field
Experience in using Jenkins and Maven for UI builds and deployment
Experience in configuration and upgrading versions of Spring and Hibernate libraries a plus
Experience with JUnit
Experience with Eclipse Oxygen and TOAD
CM Certification (such as CMPIC)
Agile certification (such as CSM or SAFe)
Cloud Practitioner Certification
Current/previous Secret clearance or above
