Our department's degree program completion wholly prepares students for a number of post graduate health professional programs as well as veterinarian programs. Up to 40% of our graduates are accepted into medical school and our department is devoted to producing graduates that want to become Oklahoma health professionals. One post-doctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Xia (Shelley) Lei in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater. The Lei laboratory utilizes cell culture and mouse models to study a secreted protein family (CTRPs) in physiological and pathological conditions, such as insulin resistance, obesity, and diabetes. The successful candidate will work on protein functional studies and related signaling pathways in the glucose and lipid metabolism. The candidate will contribute to experimental design, method development, implementation, data analysis as well as prepare manuscripts for publications. The candidate will also be provided the mentorship and professional development opportunities tailored to their career goals.

Ph.D. / M.D. in Molecular Biology and Metabolism
Experience in Molecular cloning and cell culture
Will be using common lab chemicals, virus for gene expression
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with molecular cloning, protein purification, cell culture; ability to work independently; ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Ph.D. / M.D. in Metabolic Disease
Experience with Mouse model
A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications
