Job Brief

Under minimal supervision, coordinates and completes technical survey work assignments for the Land‐Survey Division. Works on a variety of survey related assignments involving analysis of field collected engineering measurements and land boundary property surveys. Reviews, evaluates and analyzes survey boundary related documents. Executes the preparation of graphical spatial presentations (Results of surveys and exhibit drawings) through the utilization of COGO and CAD software program suites and prepares information for the use of field surveying crews in performing construction layout work. Field Scheduler/Researcher: Under indirect supervision, coordinates and schedules work assignments for the SRP Land-Surveys Division’s internal and contracted surveying field crews. Receives work requests from various internal and external sources. Reviews, evaluates and analyzes documentation received as related to field surveying assignments. Researches SRP land survey records, and is responsible for the preparation of job packets for individual internal and contracted field surveying crews and updating SRP Land-Survey’s Division surveying databases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receives requests for surveys. Performs record data research to assembly survey job packet for field crew.

  • Coordinates and schedules surveys. Explains and clarifies survey requests to field survey crew leader.

  • Reviews, checks analyzes and evaluates the survey measurement data collected and prepared by field survey crews. Performs necessary calculations and computations to assure required precision and accuracy of survey data.

  • Prepares data for presentation to survey requestors, including drawings, abstracts and reports describing the results‐of‐surveys.

  • Updates the various surveys record database and job tracking systems, as new survey results are approved for distribution to requestors.

  • Requires travel to field sites and record document source locations to collect information and resolve problems as necessary.

  • Represents Surveys Division through personal contacts with various survey requestors, both internal and external to SRP. Explains and clarifies interpretation of survey data and organizes its dissemination and routing.


College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.


At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience. A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level. Once placed into the job family, an employee may become eligible for promotion by demonstrating the ability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by their management and meeting experience requirements.

Technician Scheduler: Under indirect/minimal supervision, coordinates and schedules work assignments for the SRP Land-Surveys Division’s internal and contracted survey technicians. Receives work requests from various internal and external sources. Reviews, evaluates and analyzes documentation and field work received as related to Office Survey Technician assignments. Communicates with various clients about due dates, project milestones and updates SRP Land-Survey’s Division surveying database. Performs Office Survey Technician work as dictated by workload.
