The Sales Support & Jr./Regional Account Director hybrid role for the Emerging-Small Pharma (ESP) Region is expected to report to National Account Director or similar role or the Vice President of Sales for the ESP region.
The Sales Support & Jr./Regional Account Director will focus on team sales support responsibilities during the first 6 months. As the individual develops the necessary sales skills along with in-depth product and service knowledge, the individual will be introduced and manage a territory or list of defined accounts as Jr./Regional Account Director or comparable sales role, with approximately 50% of the time allocated to developing the territory/accounts and the remaining 50% allocated to continuing as Sales Support for the team. Within 12 months, the individual is expected to manage, support and grow a territory consisting of customers and prospects that are likely regional-based (100% allocation).
Sales Support Skills & Responsibilities
Develop strong oral and written communication skills

Develop a high level understanding of Symphony Health’s products and services
Develop a high level understanding of life science, pharmaceutical or related industries (end customers)
Become proficient in using and generating reports and insights using national audit tools such as Symphony Health’s Pharmaceutical Audit Suite (PHAST®) and Metys™
Work with Sr. Sales Analyst and Lead Generation team which activities may include: inside sales client prospecting, working with marketing & product management to develop outreach programs to prospect clients, help refine and build new compelling messages, develop insights using Symphony Health rich data sources and applications
Assist NADs with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application and other tools which activities may include: pipeline management, call activity management, client contact management, refining sales cadence, and reporting & dashboard creation
Help present Symphony Health capabilities to prospects and clients
Coordinating sales activities with Principals, Practice Heads and other commercial team members
Prepare investment summaries for National Account Directors (NADs)
Present investment summaries to NADs clients
Serve as secondary sales point of contact for select NADs clients
Serve as backup to NADs accounts when NAD are traveling or on Paid Time Off (PTO)
Review contracted services sold by NADs with account managers/customer service team and other account team members
Help build and maintain account plans for key clients
/Regional Account Director Responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of Symphony Health’s products and services
Strong knowledge of life science, pharmaceutical or related industries
Build client relationships and responsibilities to fulfill the sales targets and cultivating the Symphony Health relationship and performance.
Build and maintain account business plans and collaborate with account team members.
Serve as a key point of contact responsible for the Symphony Health relationship and sales performance
Manage sales pipeline through CRM application and other tools, as applicable, and provide forecasts to sales management
Prepare pricing and investment summaries for clients and present investment summaries to clients
Basic contracting understanding using templates available.
Development strong negotiations skills (sales and contracting)
Business development/Sales activities to a set of clients in addition to lead generation to prospective clients to build awareness and interest of Symphony Health’s services.
Responsible for new business development through sales activities including cold calling, prospecting, relationship building, networking and other efforts.
Line of sight to account team client contact, including knowledge of existing business, new business development and account growth as executed on a day to day basis by the account team members.
Assuring the account team’s execution of the account plan, including development and implementation of qualitative and quantitative metrics for achieving account success.
Managing and organizing ongoing direction of account team activities to ensure proactive and seamless pursuit of business with assigned accounts.
Proactively builds deeper strategic relationships and developing selling skills to reach higher levels within the accounts such as C-suite level contacts.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, sales or marketing or equivalent. Advanced degree in Business is desirable.
Preference to reside on East coast or Midwest and able to travel across the U.S. as needed. Location however is flexible and can be discussed.
At least 2 years of client facing roles with some sales experience preferably in a healthcare data or healthcare consulting.
Travel as required (local and national travel), with anticipated 25% to 50% of the time within Eastern and Mid-West/Central Region of United States with some national travel
