CNO Financial is hiring a INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER to create educational content for Sales, Sales Leadership and Management, and operations supporting these functions to help them meet their performance and organizational objectives.

As a INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER , your responsibilities will include:
Designs course plans and programs including instructor and end-user training materials (e.g. facilitator and participant materials, e-learning, job aides, etc.) that emphasize problem/case-based learning and interactive educational methodologies.
Applies instructional design principles to a wide variety of educational formats, e.g. blended learning, social media, and mobile technologies.
Ensures learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives.
Develops recommendation for instructional and/or performance strategies based on training needs analysis.
Creates custom, interactive online learning activities using scripting, animation and authoring tools and strategies
Assists with the coordination and implementation of company initiatives.
Takes ownership of and periodically review (library) content to ensure that it maintains relevance and accuracy/quality of content (make sure library is current and accurate) and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Reviews and tests new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement; contributes to new curriculum or program ideas.
Partners with LMS team or software vendor to resolve any technical issues with the web-based training course or its performance within the LMS as well as supporting LMS needs as assigned
Manages field collateral materials as assigned including sales aids, presentation materials and other field support
Works closely with graphics, legal and compliance on look and feel of materials as well as manages the approval process of the materials
Stays current with the latest industry tools and trends in instructional design
Support Director of Learning Management as requested
The INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER position is well-suited for you if you:
Strong ability to apply training theories and principles, including applied behavioral science, adult learning theory, and/or established industry models of evaluation
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong relationship building skills to work within the department, with the field and with members of other departments

Applies analytical, methodical approach to work that demonstrates problem-solving skills, attention to detail and strong focus on quality assurance.

Strong project management skills and attention to detail yet also able to see overall picture
Clearly and concisely conveys training content in a manner that engages learners and improves learning retention rates in multiple learning modes.
Skilled at developing engaging interactions using cutting edge web technologies with a strong nod to adult learning and instructional design (ADDIE, SAM) best practices.
Skilled at converting instructor-led training courses to eLearning modules.
Experience in user interface design, graphic design, developing storyboards and experience with one or more of the following:
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree or comparable training
3 – 5 years of experience in instructional design
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus

CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model. Our associates will have access to come into their affiliated Office (Carmel, Chicago) up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. To ensure accessibility to our corporate campuses, we ask that candidates reside within a 90 minute drive of the position location.
