Prepares, seasons & cooks food for hospital patients, hospital caf , meals on wheels program and special functions for both on and off sites while maintaining a sanitary and safe work environment following all state and local health codes.


High school diploma or equivalent

One year hotel /restaurant cooking experience.

Ability to speak, read and write English.

Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised in a restaurant style facility

  1. Prepares required amount of food to cover meals

  2. Consistently follows recipes when preparing food

  3. Frequently tastes food for quality assurance

  4. Takes temperatures daily following local and state codes

  5. Stores and labels food properly

  6. Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedule

  7. Demonstrates five star standards with staff, patients and customers

  8. Prepares fresh products daily

  9. Reviews daily production sheets to properly identify type and quality of food to be prepared

  10. Minimizes waste and over production

  11. Rotates food items on an FIFO+A95 basis

  12. Insures all foods are kept at proper holding temperatures

  13. Possesses the ability to perform batch cooking

  14. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

  15. Prepares food in an ala carte style

  16. Responsible for quality, appearance taste

  17. Attend all department and hospital meetings when scheduled

All hourly employees are to work every other weekend
