The Hartford is seeking an experienced Cloud DataOps Engineer to be part of our Cloud Engg, Transformation & Operations team
The Hartford’s journey to Cloud is a period of immense change – it is a critical part of this role to foster a customer first mindset and focus on work that meets the most needs of Data and Analytics users across The Hartford. This is a technical position that requires 5+ years of industry experience and a deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, and Availability etc. You should be passionate for designing and managing outcomes ranging from simple solutions to resolving complex problems.

Primary Responsibilities include:
"Lead by example" by designing, building and executing on Devops best practices, adherence to governance, control policy recommendations, provide recommendations on simplifying the landscape by advocating better cost management and providing insights into overall cloud spend
Delivering across a broad range of activities covering solution architecture design, prototyping, developing, testing and operations using AWS serverless, streaming and container services
Designing and Administering Container deployment, cluster scaling and management activities via automation, promoting serverless and micro-services architecture
Ability to architect and steer the DevSecOps Cloud journey for EDO. Demonstrate key skills and ability to influence without authority.
Work with various service teams in EDO to design and build an end-end-end DevOps pipeline using a flavor of technologies, covering AWS & SaaS platforms and services
Designing reusable architectures and services that can be leveraged by agile teams to improve development velocity.
Being accountable for the decisions you propose and a thought leader in their implementation.
Know how applications should be engineered by following fault tolerant best practices, separation of duties, observability, and being operator friendly.
Striving for greatness and challenging the status-quo.
Familiarity with working in a hybrid cloud environment, focused on Data Ingestion, Analytics, AI technologies (preferable on AWS)
5+ years of software development experience and best practices
3+ years of Designing, developing and operating production workloads in AWS cloud infrastructure, with hands-on expertise in CICD / Container / Serverless / Streaming / Identity and Access Management services
Focus on action, shipping mindset and iterative deployment practices
Working with agile development teams, methodologies and toolsets
Strong written and verbal communication skills
