Deque Systems Android Mobile Developer in United States

Position Description

Deque?s mission is Digital Equality. We help developers make their UIs accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Our axe-core is the most popular open-source accessibility testing engine for web applications and is used by Google in Chrome DevTools and by Microsoft.

Demand for Deque?s native mobile accessibility product is growing rapidly and we are looking for an Android developer to join our team. As a team member, you will help customers create accessible native mobile applications and will be trusted by development teams at the world?s best-known brands.

What you will do (Primary Responsibilities)

  • Assist in the review of pull requests including security reviews

  • Become fluent in the use and development of our developer accessibility libraries and apps

  • Write new features, unit and integration tests, CI scripts and code, deployment automation, and any code that impacts customers, DevOps, or anything related

  • Fix issues in existing code, work with support to reproduce and resolve customer issues

  • Write and review technical proposals

  • Create and edit sprint tickets

Required skills and experience

  • At least 2 years of current experience developing Android native applications, with at least 3 years of total experience in software development

  • Passion for digital accessibility and a desire to become a world-class expert in the subject

  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work on an Agile Development team.

  • Willingness to learn or proven expertise in creating Accessible Native Mobile Applications

Job Location

This position is remote; based anyway in the USA

Core Work Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Eastern US timezone

Must be authorized to work in the USA
