GENERALSUMMARY(What is done and why)
The Analytics Intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, results driven, team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in managing complex data sets, data exploration practices, and creating insightful dashboards and visualizations to answer complex business questions. This person will assist in report migration and documentation as part of a large-scale enterprise project team. This person is assigned substantive projects and will receive regular developmental feedback. The intern should have a basic understanding and skills related to databases and the basic ability to query data from a database. In addition, the candidate should display curiosity, creativity, and be a good problem solver, organizer and time manager. Finally, the intern must be able to represent our Values: Ethics, Quality, The Membership, Team United, The Business, Growth & Market Diversity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, IN PRIORITY ORDER(Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
Work with the Enterprise Analytics team to migrate 1,200 reports/dashboards. Time: 80%
Assists business, analytic, and operational users of the analytics tools to maximize adoption and use.Time: 10%
Performs other duties as required by management.Time: 10%
Qualifications
EDUCATION(Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)
High school diploma or equivalent.
A college student enrolled in an accredited educational institution within the fields of information technology or computer science or any analytics related field.
Overall GPA of at least 3.0 required, 3.5 GPA or higher preferred.
EXPERIENCE(Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)
In additionto the education requirement:
Some professional or academic experience building reports, performing data analysis, and building interactive data visualizations and dashboards, preferably in the financial industry.
Some professional or academic experience using SQL and/or relational databases to build reports, pull and analyze data.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES(Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)
Intermediate knowledge of databases
Intermediate knowledge of a query language (ex: SQL, R, Python, etc.)
Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of (and/or willingness to dive in and learn) emerging reporting tools and technologies (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, etc.).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS(Physical effort generally associated with this position)
Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer. Deadlines, workloads and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels. Ability to lift an average of 35 pounds may be required when moving boxes of printed materials.
WORKING CONDITIONS(Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)
Internal- Work is normally performed in climate- controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines, special meetings.
External- Travel is not likely required; however, information on environmental conditions is not available.
