Kiawah Partners AM or PM Line Cook in United States

The Kiawah Island Club is seeking talented and experienced individuals to join the culinary team as AM or PM Line Cooks at Voysey's at Cassique. Voysey's is a private restaurant and pub with an exclusive menu designed and refined by James Beard Award-winner Tom Colicchio of Manhattan's famed Gramercy Tavern and Craft restaurants. Located in the Cassique Clubhouse that is reminiscent of a 19th-century English Manor, the restaurant offers commanding views of the golf course and the surrounding tidelands of the Kiawah River. Executive Chef Doug Blair leads a talented team, doing everything in-house from butchering to curing meats, to regularly meeting with local farmers in order to maintain the highest possible quality in every product he uses. Under Blair's guidance, Voysey's has become a premiere dining destination in the Lowcountry and has been recognized as one of the top private club restaurants in the world.

Line Cooks will prepare food according to recipe specifications and the Executive Chef's guidelines in a timely and efficient manner. Qualified Line Cooks will have proficient knowledge of hot food preparation, stocks, sauces, vegetable cookery, and meat temperatures. Previous experience in a high-volume scratch kitchen is essential. Applicants must have experience in sauté, grill, broil, steam, fry and salad stations. Knife skills and cooking terms knowledge are essential. Knowledge of, and adherence to sanitation rules is required.

The perfect candidates will be responsible for the following, among other duties:

  • Responsible for producing and providing premier food items while providing quality service to our members and guests

  • Prepares, cooks and portions meals while ensuring proper presentation of the plating of each menu item to be served

  • Assists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen

  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance

  • Prepares, cooks and portions meals while ensuring proper presentation of the plating of each menu item to be served

  • Assists in the development and creation of menus to maintain or exceed established criteria, paying special attention to seasonal availability

  • Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience

  • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment

  • Ability to understand written and oral directions and to communicate professionally with others
