JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for new account penetration and sales growth in an assigned territory. Builds professional sales relationships with assigned customers in all channels of distribution. Utilizes a consultative selling style that operates independently on a daily basis. Demonstrates advanced execution of customer engagement and business acumen competencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and deploy sales and market education resources in a manner that assures wide territory acceptance.

  • Meet and exceed projected sales goals based on territory quota established by sales management for the given territory.

  • Leverages in depth knowledge of ocular industry, competition, and product portfolio to meet and exceed customer needs.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of customer needs, priorities, and internal dynamics and uses thorough understanding of CVI sales platform or Professional Selling Skills to grow market share.

  • Uses sophisticated question process to understand customer’s business, assess needs and profile the account.

  • Use on a daily basis a disciplined approach to selling to uncover and meet customer needs.

  • Responsible for establishing an effective call cycle plan to grow territory business; Execute territory call cycle including 6-8 calls per day of which 3-4 are pre-set appointments.

  • Executes a detailed territory business plan that is aligned with business and account priorities including regular review and analysis of key metrics and documented adjustments to strategy based on data indicators; plans are reviewed and approved by US Commercial Team.

  • Dedicated to meeting customer needs quickly and accurately. Return customer phone and email inquiries within 24 hours.

  • Utilizes thorough probing style to understand customer’s business, assess needs and profile the account.

  • Responsible for formulating and executing an effective call cycle plan to grow territory business; Sales Representative will prepare account business plans with their Regional Director.

  • Develop new business within geographic territory.

  • Maintain technical proficiency with CooperVision Specialty (CRT) products.

  • Integration and training of CooperVision Specialty (CRT) suite of technology and value-added products and services to customer office; sell in value-added benefit of tools to enhance customer experience with Paragon Vision Sciences.

  • Develop customer marketing plans and promotions to grow business; monitor to insure return on investment.

  • Participate in state, regional and national optical shows when requested.

  • Submit all administrative reports on a timely basis (call reports, expense reports, ROI reports, etc.).

  • Implement practice management programs, plans and actions for practitioners, including:

o Integrating newly certified practitioners - initiate call within 24 hours of certification.

o Provide practice management training for practitioner and staff via onsite visits, webinar, phone and email

  • Identify the need for value-added tools; working collaboratively with appropriate departments in creation of practice management tools and materials for eye care practitioners.

  • Ongoing in office clinical support (i.e. patient fittings/trouble shooting).

  • Educate all practitioners on current promotions, products and dispensing sets.

  • Attend lab seminars, conventions and other practitioner meetings as required to exhibit, present or educate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/

  • Use of Microsoft Office suite of tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advance skills through training and daily use.

  • Daily use of CRM tool and reports to analyze product, account sales and overall territory growth

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Positive and constructive attitude.

  • Anticipate, understand, prioritize and meet customer needs.

  • Adapt to a changing work environment; various situations, individuals and/or groups on a daily basis.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Communication proficiency with above average verbal and writing skills

  • Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word

  • Ability to effectively interface with all departments

  • Strong relationship building

  • Highly proficient in reading

/WORK ENVIRONMENT/

  • Territory travel-Independent from manager/ remote employee home office environment.

/EDUCATION/

  • Bachelor’s degree required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

/EXPERIENCE/

  • Minimum five – eight years of sales experience with documented success (rankings, awards, achievements) Tangible product sales experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of both the contact lens and optical industry is highly beneficial.
