VMware Compensation Consultant in France

Working as part of the Regional Compensation Consulting team , you will be responsible for providing strategic, consultative, technical and analytical Compensation consulting advice to business leaders and HR colleagues in the EMEA region. You will also be responsible for compensation analysis, projects and policies for 40 countries across the region.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Initially you will learn about VMware's global Compensation philosophy and practice and the nuances of local country practices.

You will soon be contributing and influencing as a respected member of the global compensation team.

You will effectively partner with regional HR and other colleagues, prioritizing as required to efficiently manage all country Compensation policies and practices, and be seen by others as the subject matter expert.

Over several months you will use your Compensation expertise and communication skills to become a trusted strategic adviser to business and HR leaders in the region.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Partner with other Global Compensation team members and broader HR team in the design, development and implementation of compensation programs and policies; and own the programs and policies specific to EMEA countries

Build consultative and collaborative relationships with internal client groups to support business strategy

Create and present comprehensive analysis to assess compensation issues in the business and provide market competitive and business aligned solutions using internal and external benchmark data sources.

Effectively partner with HR, Talent Acquisition and Business client to manage, consult, and resolve EMEA compensation issues; and participate in Compensation, HR and business projects as required.

Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation matters; and give appropriate advice to ensure the integrity of job and grade architecture and pay ranges.

Influence other functions including HR Partners, Executive Compensation, and Finance by partnering on a variety of compensation related projects and matters.

Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and other forums, providing back-up coverage for the team leader or team members as applicable.

Collaborate closely with other compensation team members to share knowledge and creative solutions to ensure consistent advice to the business.

Provide guidance, advice, analysis and training in connection with compensation policies, plans, and job design.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The hiring manager for this role is Ian Wright, who leads the Regional Comp Consulting team and has been with VMware for 6 years. The team is responsible for Compensation in EMEA, the Asia Pacific region and the Compensation policy and practice for our global Future of Work initiative.

The team partners closely with the Global Consulting team (who each have line of business responsibility) and the Compensation Programs and Enablement team (who develop and deliver pay planning, bonus planning, market surveys, pay ranges, etc). Most of the Compensation team are in the US and India, and the team is friendly, collaborative, professional, hard working and aligned to our EPIC2 values.

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
