The Red Hat Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Consultancy team is looking for a Senior Architect to join our Open Innovation Labs (Labs) and Architecture practice in Australia. In this role, you will help us ensure that our engagements are not just a technology implementation, but an organizational transformation. You'll focus on technology and people and processes, enabling them through a residency-style engagement in which consulting engineers work together with customers in small teams to build, test, and iterate over innovative application prototypes attached to real business value. As a Senior Architect, you will serve as the lead architect in our lab engagements, co-creating innovative software solutions using emerging open source technology and modern software design methods in an agile environment. You'll support everything from the scoping of Labs residencies to delivering the engagements. This role ideally suits a senior, directly involved architect with the passion for coaching teams, design, communication, and delivering complex solutions.
What you will do
Lead the discovery, architecture, design, and implementation of application prototypes using modern application development practices and emerging open source technologies with Kubernetes and OpenShift
Write cloud-native code and automated tests in Java using modern frameworks like Quarkus
Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines with container-based solutions and GitOps
Solve complex issues in production and non-production applications, clusters, and operating systems
Work as a trusted advisor to our customers, guide them through solutions that directly translate into business value and outcomes
Support pre and post-sales field teams during workshops, proofs of concepts, pilots, and production deployments
What you will bring
8+ years of experience working as a software developer, architect, or in other similar technical and consulting roles
Ability to perform customer-facing activities in fast-paced as well as more constrained environments
Practical experience in software development and testing with languages like Java, Go, and Python
End-to-end knowledge of the software delivery process, from design, build, test, security, all the way to apps running in production
Enthusiasm for working with container platforms, CD, and automation
Passion for DevOps and other ways of working that enable business agility and fast delivery
Experience facilitating software design, architecture, and ideation sessions
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to customer locations throughout ANZ and globally on occasion following Red Hat’s COVID-19 guidelines
