GENERAL DESCRIPTIONWork a full range of aircraft sheet metal duties including, but not limited to, disassemble, modify, repair and reassemble complex aircraft metal items and systems, including bulkheads, airframes, spars, air scoops, flaps, wings, pylons, sponsons, fuselages, skins, ribs, gussets and internal and external fuel tanks.DUTIESCandidate must be intimately familiar with all associate pneumatic and power riveting tools and sheet metal toolsAnalyze and evaluate structural damage to metal system and itemsDevelop patterns using a combination of parallel and radial line developmentFabricate, install, and repair a variety of items and systems made from a wide variety of metals, e.g., stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb, alloys, aluminum etc.Replace sections and patch old systemsCut, bend, shape, and form metals for items that have numerous irregular angles, planes and curves with varying pitch and circumferenceUse a variety of assembly joints, complex fastening systems, riveted or welded jointsDrill or punch holesAssemble or repair items by seaming, soldering, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking and spot weldingUser precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, snap ring, height, depth, dial and screw pitch gauges, squares, rulers, trammel points and sine barsOther Duties as AssignedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalentAandP license not required but a plusPrefer experience from military fixed wing and/or rotor community, including, but not limited to; F/A-18, P-8, F-5, T-6, T-44 and H-60 variants or civilian heavy structures sheet metal/fastener RandR background.Five (5) years relevant experience in heavy structures or military aviation backgroundMilitary installation DEPOT level maintenance experience and/or equivalent major MRO facility preferred.Must be able to read and interpret blueprintsMust be familiar with U.S. Military aviation maintenance criteria and specificationsMust be able to manufacture, fabricate, develop, install and repair a variety of items from a variety of metals including high strength steel, titanium, aluminum and numerous alloys, fiberglass and honeycomb/composite skins.Must be a US CitizenMust be able to pass a National Agency background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities.We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to walk, stand, crawl, kneel and bend on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, pull over hand, push, reach or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.May be required to lift up to 44 pounds and heavy, moderate carrying up to 44 pounds.May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales with or without corrective lens.Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.Must be able to distinguish color, shades of color and judge three-dimensional depth.May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, crane, truck, tractor, etc.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER / VEVRAA /ADATNC and its subsidiaries fall under ANCSA and are entitled under Federal Law to extend hiring preferences to its shareholders.
