Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Facilities/Maintenance Engineer in Vidalia, GA. As the Facilities/Maintenance Engineer, you will provide technical support in assigned area to ensure effective operations. Serve as technical contact for maintenance personnel. Role requires regular interaction with all levels of management, skilled trades and production employees.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Support troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, PLC programs in all areas of the facility.

  • Act as technical support for new process automation, campus wide process improvements, stampings, presses, conveyor systems, etc.

  • Order, install, debug, and test new equipment

  • Design modifications to existing equipment for productivity improvement

  • Support individual and team Six Sigma goals.

  • Support PLC programming as needed on assigned projects

  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repair of equipment, including technical training as needed

Key Competencies:

  • A/B PLC programming (SLC500, PLC5, Micrologix, Control Logix, RS view 32, Panel Builder 32, Control Net & Device Net) a plus or aptitude to learn & apply.

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to transfer analysis to actionable recommendations for the business

  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy

  • Results-oriented, self-starter

  • Must function well in a Team environment

  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently as needed

  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred with good working knowledge of the tools and other analytical procedures or willingness to learn & apply

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical design and PLC troubleshooting experience required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering preferred

  • Manufacturing experience in assembly & metal forming equipment with hydraulic and pneumatics preferred

  • Proficient in AutoCad preferred
