Red Oak Recovery Recovery Guide in US, North Carolina

Red Oak Recovery is located in the pristine Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Asheville NC. We

specialize in the treatment of young adult males, ages 18-30, and are a clinically dynamic, trauma

intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program. The leadership team of Red Oak

Recovery is made up of recognized experts in the field of mental health who specialize in the integration

of wilderness and experiential therapy, substance abuse, trauma, and mental health treatment.

young adults through their recovery process as you develop your skills with a thriving company, this is the role for you.

The applicant must be willing to work 8 consecutive days on shift followed by 6 days off. Housing is

provided while on shift.

  • Role and Responsibilities:*

  • Provide the highest level of physical and emotional safety to our clients

  • Manage client groups and help clients navigate their schedule which includes education, sports, meditation, adventure activities, yoga, and much more

  • Work as part of an integrative treatment team through learning and implementing compassionate clinical care

  • Empower clients to take responsibility for their actions

  • Promote and encourage clients to make healthy decisions through modeling healthy behavior and helping positively motivate clients

  • Teach a wide variety of coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to our clients

  • Facilitate therapeutic interventions, process groups, mindfulness sessions, and educational groups

  • Lead clients on overnight adventure activities (hiking, camping, canoeing) while maintaining the highest level of physical and emotional safety for our clients

  • Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:*

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Minimum HS diploma (or equivalent)

  • Current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED certification (training provided)

  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (training provided)

  • Preferred Experience and Skills:*

  • Bachelor-s degree in social work or related mental health field

  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills

  • Personal and/or professional experience with 12 Step Recovery, Substance Abuse Treatment, Mental Health Treatment and/or Wilderness Therapy

  • Experience with managing groups in a residential or wilderness setting

  • Wilderness First Responder or higher medical certification
