JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Campus Recreation, a department within Student Affairs, is seeking part-time (approx 20 hours per week) Grounds/Maintenance Workers for Stone Valley Recreation Area. Stone Valley Recreation Area is 17 miles from the University Park Campus, nestled within the 7,000-acre Stone Valley Forest. Additional positions available at Stone Valley Recreation Area include Facility Attendants, Lead Facility Attendants, and Facility Supervisors.

Grounds/Maintenance Workers are responsible for maintaining the facilities and grounds of Stone Valley Recreation Area. Main functions of the position include trail maintenance, and providing general grounds keeping and cleaning services at Stone Valley Recreation Area such as mow and trim lawn areas; operate trucks, tractors, powered ground equipment, and pneumatic tools; remove brush, leaves, grass clippings, paper and debris from grounds; may perform minor repairs; assist moving furniture, equipment, and materials; moping, sweeping, and cleaning floors; operating powered janitorial equipment. Grounds/Maintenance Workers must attend monthly staff meetings. Preference will be given to current Penn State students. MVR Check Required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation and have access to a reliable form of transportation. Positions are mostly seasonal in nature with the primary hours available from April through September. Applicants must be able to work varied hours including days, evening, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Must be a currently enrolled Penn State University Park student and we will build your work schedule around your class schedule. Applications will be kept on file through July 31, 2021.
