Job Summary

Essential Functions:

  • Directthe activities of the hotel sales team, providing leadership and motivationnecessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximizethe generation of sales/revenues.

  • Developand maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/orconvention business, to include room sales, F&B sales and catering/banquetservices.

  • Developand manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities/performance toensure sales meet or exceed established profit plan and to accurately reportvariances/projections to management.

  • Directthe scheduling of conventions and business group activities at the hotel andcoordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreedupon by the sales office and prospective clients.

  • Responsiblefor the development of hotel-level tactical sales plans to support overallsystem-wide plans/strategies and programs.

  • Developand maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of localcommunity groups, companies and trade organizations, and attend local and outof town meetings and conventions in order to generate sales for the hotel.

  • Assistthe General Manager in the development and update of the hotel-level businessplan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overallbusiness and sales strategies of the company.

  • Incoordination with General Manager, serve as interface on media relatedinquiries and refer sensitive matters to the General Manger if necessary.

  • Regularlywork files for past and potential groups to generate repeat business for thehotel. Keep trace system up-to-date andin order.

  • Attendweekly departmental and hotel staff meeting to facilitate good communicationwithin the hotel. Discuss VIPs andincoming business in detail.

  • Generatereports as required to measure business generated by the sales department.

  • Followall applicable Trust Standard Operating procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sdegree and five years total experience in Hotel or Resort Sales.

  • LocalNative preferred

  • Grooming

  • Allassociates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per TrustStandards. Sales Manager must dress in professional, business attire at alltimes.
