bDescription/b The Product Development Team Leader is responsible for the product engineering activities for a specific customer and or product line. This position reports to the Product Development Engineering Manager.spanThis position is responsible for providing the required technical direction and focus necessary to support the award, development and launch of new programs and product applications with the automotive OEM's./span The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge sought below but, of equal importance, he or she will be self motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be a creative thinker. This is a "hands-on" position that will work across the organization in a competitive atmosphere. Working effectively with cross-functional teams is crucial for success. br font class="bold"What You Will Do In Your Role/fontul liLead and develop a group of product engineers that support a specific customer and or product line./li liParticipate in the development of quotes, ensuring the quote is aligned with SRG best practices and capabilities./li liLead the "Technical Sell" activities for SRG for a given customer and or product line./li liDetermine and anticipate staffing and training requirements and take the necessary steps to ensure they are fulfilled./li liDetermine and anticipate customer expectations, requirements, and specifications and take the necessary steps so that SRG is prepared to fulfill them./li liLead product engineers through the design and development process ensuring that SRG Gate Process and customer requirements are completed and adhered too in a timely and efficient manner./li liDevelop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects./li liTrain the team in the appropriate engineering disciplines (APQP, DFM, DFMEA, DVPR, GDT, SPC, PPAP, problem solving, etc.) and ensure they are utilized and followed./li liEnsure product engineering support is provided at our facility and the customer's facility as appropriate./li liDirect and approve design releases and changes for a given customer and or product line./li liDemonstrate project issue knowledge and effectively make decisions based on appropriate data. Guide development teams to focus on data based decision-making./li liTake a leadership role in identifying root cause of problems found, develop solutions, and implement changes for problems as they arise./li liEffectively communicate expectations of performance and lead, evaluate, monitor, and develop the employees to ensure their maximum contribution to the achievement of the department objectives./liliBuild rapport and maintain effective customer relationships./li/ul brfont class="bold"The Experience You Will Bring/fontfont class="bold"Requirements:/fontul liCandidates should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in product design, preferable decorative exterior trim./li liLeadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group./li liStrong knowledge of plastic injection molding part design and tooling./li liWell-organized project management skills, program management background a plus./li liExperience with budgeting, cost estimating, CAD and quality engineering concepts./li liStrong verbal and written communication skills a must./liliBS in Engineering or other technical degree required./liliNissan customer experience./li/ul br br spanSalary and Benefits Commensurate with Experience.br
