Job SummaryThis position ensures mortgage fulfillment is proactively audit-ready and manufacturing loans compliantly by having in-depth knowledge of processes and control structures within each mortgage fulfillment business unit, how those processes connect to each other, where they are documented and, most importantly, how they support Consumer Compliance Regulations and minimize risk to the bank.This position will work in conjunction with senior business unit management to achieve satisfactory ratings on audits and proactively monitor complex processes performed by multiple department(s) and channel(s), including providing input on comprehensive written reports and summaries for Executive Management communicating results of findings and highlighting overall business risk.Additionally, this position will identify, escalate and champion compliance and regulatory improvement opportunities within a matrix environment and partner with business process owners to conduct operational control and regulatory self-testing. This individual will collaborate with colleagues in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance/QC (2nd LOD) and Internal Audit/Loan Review (3rd LOD) and External Auditors including Federal Regulators and Agencies.In addition, this position will act as a senior level project manager, handling the project management and execution for key strategic and internal control, compliance and/or risk-based projects for Fulfillment.This role will manage the entire spectrum of project management for key internal control, compliance and/or risk-based projects and is responsible for representing management on the key projects as a business control/compliance/risk stakeholder/owner. Additionally, the role will handle project planning, reporting to senior management and implementation. They will oversee facets of the project including review/collaboration of business case creation, compliance/risk requirements within project phases, oversight of testing, training, manual updates and benefit realization.In addition to performing the project management responsibilities above this role will also perform the following:Ensure business unit procedures, job aids, user guides and other materials are updated to reflect process and project changes prior to implementation, are clear, concise and written to support Consumer Compliance Regulations and prepares Fulfillment for audit-readiness. This includes ensuring business unit management has trained and communicated processes effectively, prior to launching or changing of processes.This position will provide oversight and work directly with IT and Fulfillment Testing (UAT) analysts to ensure internal control/compliance and risk processes are successfully scoped, thoroughly tested and validated and documented appropriately for audit-readiness.Mortgage fulfillment business units are involved in 40 external/internal audits, compliance tests and risk assessments annually. Audits are performed to ensure the manufacturing loan process at Flagstar Bank is adhering to investor and regulatory compliance. Due Diligence responds to issues to allow the loans to be sold. Employee loans are underwritten and the information is kept confidential. Risk Assessments are completed to identify and reduce risks to the bank. Reports are reviewed to ensure accuracy and consistency within the fulfillment department.
