Autodesk's Forge team is looking for a passionate Sr Tech Lead - Java to join our team in Montreal. Our organizational ecosystem comprises cloud services and web client components. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the architecture and implementation of the cloud data platform of Autodesk and influencing the development of components and services across the Forge organization. This is an opportunity to work on applications that directly impact the millions of users of Autodesk products.
You will be part of an agile product team of smart and highly motivated software architects and engineers building world-class cloud software applications and services. You will work in a global organization and collaborate with local and remote colleagues from various disciplines like business, engineering, operations, support etc. You will work with the latest technologies in a flexible environment.
Involved with all aspects of software development, working to create and maintain the most reliable, secure, performant and high throughput service for our customers by leveraging cloud technology
Partner closely with product managers, product owners, software architects and other stakeholders to iteratively turn high level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually
Contribute to software design and architecture by leveraging cloud design patterns and injecting your cloud expertise into the entire development lifecycle
Contribute to improvements in processes and deliverables that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team in responding to customer and business needs
Document and present your ideas and solutions accurately and thoroughly
Mentor, empower, and tech lead a group of engineers.
Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science Engineering or related technical fields
12+ years of software design, development, and consulting experience in cloud systems or web services
Excellent hands-on Java programming skills.
5+ years of hands-on experience in solving complex engineering problems as a Technical Lead or Software/Cloud Architect
Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, tools, and Agile methodologies
Hands on Experience with AWS or other cloud providers
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Extensive experience in building highly scalable systems and services in the cloud
Experience in building and running SaaS applications at large scale
Extensive experience with Databases and database design principles at cloud scale
Strong additional programming skills, preferably with Go, and/or TypeScript
Experience with Domain Modeling, Data Modeling, and API Design (Rest, GraphQL etc.)
Strong exposure to cross-platform application development including Web/Mobile/Desktop

You have a strong desire and ability to deliver results. You can succeed and consistently reach the highest standards in a dynamic, agile environment with changing priorities
