Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Compliance Inspections: A. Performs inspections and evaluations of complex solid and hazardous waste facilities to determine compliance with federal and state environmental statutes and regulations. B. Reports: Compiles and analyzes inspection and technical data collected during inspections, interprets findings, and prepares inspection or other technical reports, correspondence, and support documentation as needed. Submit reports through District Environmental Administrator (DEA) within 30 calendar days of initial inspection. Provide facility with inspection results upon completion of inspection or in writing within 7 calendar days. Where appropriate, telephonic notification of inspection results may be used. C. Follow-up: Reviews corrective action plans and interprets facility actions to return to compliance. Track compliance efforts by facilities and follows-up corrective actions within 10 calendar days of compliance deadlines. When facilities fail to come into compliance after deadline, determines when necessary to refer to DEA for consideration. D. Waste Inspector Training: Completes BWM training requirements for solid and hazardous waste. Obtains OSHA 40-hour training and remains certified with annual refresher training for hazardous site work.

Complaint Investigations: Performs special investigations of citizen complaints regarding solid and hazardous wastes. Prepares investigation reports within 10 calendar days of responding to complaint. Provides appropriate follow-up to ensure correction of violations of federal or state regulations identified as a result of the
