The ideal candidate is experienced in placing the user first, is highly focused on working with a collaborative infrastructure support team and is eager to own and solve user problems. We are looking for a team member with high integrity, a creative problem solver who can work with all team members to solve infrastructure escalations quickly and have fun doing it! We are a dynamic, fast-paced team environment that flourishes when solving problems.

Your time will be spent responding to complex incidents, identifying and resolving problems and escalating where appropriate. In addition, you will manage smaller projects and team resources. You will also be responsible for new infrastructure project planning and implementation as well as existing project cancelation, modification or improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide remote and hands on user support for desktops, lap tops and local lab equipment

  • Provide administrative support for local server systems

  • Provide technical guidance to users and management for desktop support services

  • Participate in projects or teams and directed by the Manager/Supervisor

  • Assist Manager/Supervisor in development support strategy

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of all relevant hardware and software

  • Implementation and support of network operating systems and services

  • Configuration, installation & deployment of all PC’s and PC related peripherals

  • Configuration, installation, deployment & support of desktop management suite

  • Support local manufacturing systems

  • Develop and maintain appropriate desktop and server related procedures and ensure these procedures are implemented

  • Develop & maintain appropriate disaster recovery procedures

  • Develop a working knowledge of department specific applications

  • Stay on top of technical aspects of PC-LAN computing environment

  • Provide project management for implementations and role-outs

  • Provide Manager/Supervisor with equipment projections and assist with purchasing

  • Perform daily backup procedures as defined by technical leads

  • Perform system assessments and utilization reports as required

  • Log into and use telephone and computer based Service Desk system to record all support activities

  • Contribute to meeting the departmental key performance indicators

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicable degree program or industry certification as well as three or more years’ experience in a similar role. Typically, this will include:

  • 3 years’ experience desktop support

  • 3 years’ experience network applications / operating systems / hardware

  • 3 years’ experience implementing and maintaining Windows based application servers

  • ITIL Foundation Certified

  • US Citizen, ability to travel with valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work off core business hours as required

Position Competencies:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated strength in the following competencies: PC / Hardware and associated peripherals, network hardware and management tools, network operating systems and applications, Microsoft O/S, Server and Desktop, user documentation and diagnostic tools.
