Pega Administrator: -

  • Well experienced tc server / apache tomcat administration - being able to troubleshoot errors, exceptions is a must

  • Basic understanding of kafka, cassandra techs - being able to dive into log files and understanding what is going on at a broad level

  • Understanding of management of JVMs - how different services/JVMs work together - Pega uses multiple JVMs in its services

  • Understanding of OS, Java, SSL etc is very desirable - ability to do PoC updates, evaluate impact of a new patch

  • Basic understanding of Postgres RDBMS is valuable as Pega resides in the database - ability to independently login to database and run queries to check system state, health etc.

  • Basic literacy of linux commandline, shell, scripting - to be able to independently work in a terminal window

  • Broad understanding of AWS infra - as this is deployed in AWS, understanding of basic terminologies etc. (not a must as someone can learn this quickly)

  • Self-starter - being able to take initiative, independently pursue an issue

  • Attention to detail is a must

  • Ability to learn and upskill quickly

**Prior experience of Pega application/platform administration is advantageous otherwise the learning curve will be steep

Common and CRITICAL Skills

  • Strong understanding of platform administration, monitoring tools, installation and configuration, troubleshoot infra specific issues and liase with respective platform vendor and other infra teams for issue resolution, RCA and remediation

  • The position is within Platform Support where flexibility and availability during weekends and US hours for on call support would be needed.

  • Knowledge of python scripting skills would be preferable

  • Good Unix scripting skills

  • Awareness of Business Intelligence, SQL queries, DWH concepts, BI concepts

  • Should be flexible in working in extended shifts over weekends and holidays.

  • Should have ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions

  • Display interpersonal skills in handling the day to day operations on the floor

  • Suggest and work on process improvements Ideas

  • Experience in dealing with US clients would be added advantage

  • Knowledge on Security like Kerberos, TLS would be an added advantage

  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts will be helpful

  • Knowledge of Incident and Change Management - Should be able to drive incident and change management calls

  • Good Analytical Skills & problem solving skills

  • Pro-active & Positive Attitude

  • Ability to Work efficiently and effectively in a team

  • Should be able to take decisions by self and escalate issues on time

  • Basic phone & email etiquettes are desirable as candidate would need to interact with on-shore clients/external entities on a regular basis.
