Eastman Shift Process Lead in Texas City, Texas

Responsibilities

The Shift Process Leader (SPL) is responsible for directing the work of a crew (typically 12-hour rotating shift employees) in a manufacturing operations area to produce a quality product. He/she will operate the console and direct the outside operators to manage the processes and equipment. His/her goal is to help the division meet safety, quality, and production targets, as well as to support and align with the company objectives.

  • Optimize console to control day-to-day operations in the most efficient manner

  • Job training is completed effectively and timely

  • Model safe behaviors and good housekeeping and always adhere to Basic Safety Expectations

  • Participate in effective crew safety meetings, lead as requested by Team Manager

  • Participate in incident and ‘near miss’ reviews

  • Ensure safety training and Management of Change (MOC) training is completed effectively and timely

  • Lead/Facilitate effective team meetings

  • Communicate clear expectations to the crew and to other stakeholders

  • Quality/Reliability: Ensure the operation is maintained using best practices, maintain crew’s focus on business results, assist with troubleshooting

  • Initiate work notifications

  • Troubleshoot problems using trends, procedures and other resources

  • Coordinate maintenance activities in area of responsibility

  • Issue safe work permits for maintenance activities and ensure JSAs are used where appropriate

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 5 years’ process experience

  • P-Tech degree highly desired
