Human Resources develops and implements our “team members, candidates, and operational” strategies to support Wells Fargo’s business objectives. This group manages compensation and benefits, human resource service centers, systems and payroll, team member relations and assistance, talent management, learning and development, and recruiting. The Senior Compensation Consultant is responsible for contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives on compensation in support of Wells Fargo’s business strategy. Scope of work includes the development and update to compensation strategy, tools and guidance as well as the foundational design regarding the use and application of compensation tools that Wells Fargo applies globally.

This individual will work closely with partners across the enterprise in Compensation, HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal and HR Risk to design programs that comply with evolving business strategy and deliver on the team member value proposition. This is a position with considerable impact on the Company’s success during a period of meaningful change. The ideal candidate exhibits the capability to lead and influence across matrixed teams in a large company, presents strong interpersonal skills, and has proven results in contributing to the successful delivery of projects and broad initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Independently lead efforts on the socialization, engagement and implementation of compensation design initiatives related to pay practices and related programs.

  • Develop socialization and implementation plans aligned with risk, technology infrastructure, compensation delivery and other partners across the enterprise to ensure successful integration of design with broader compensation initiatives and projects.

  • Contribute to the development of enterprise pay policies, processes, guidelines and standards to effectively support business objectives and appropriately balance risk.

  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives across the Compensation Design & Governance team.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of compensation communications in partnership with the Total Rewards Communications team

  • Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with corporate and line of business compensation leaders and leaders in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Risk, HR and Finance.

Location(s): The preferred location(s) for this job opening are as listed in the job posting (Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO). However, other locations will be considered for this opportunity.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of consulting experience in compensation, human resources, accounting, or finance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good analytical and modeling skills

  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver upstream and downstream project impacts

  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations

  • Ability to create and improve process through strategic thinking

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
