National Credit Union Administration Financial Data Analyst in Tempe, Arizona

Summary

The incumbent of this position will serve as a Financial Data Analyst in the Western Region, providing a variety of financial, statistical, data analysis, project, and administrative support to the Division of Supervision.More than the number of positions listed may be filled through this vacancy announcement.

Responsibilities

As a Financial Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the following duties: Collects, analyzes, consolidates, and maintains data related to NCUA's internal reporting systems. Assesses electronic data to design complex financial, statistical, and analytical reports. Interprets financial and statistical data to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of data. Designs custom queries to retrieve raw data from local and national databases. Serves as a technical point of contact regarding data storage and retrieval.

Qualifications

To qualify at the grade CU-09 applicants must have one of the following: A. Have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-07 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include the following activities: 1) reviewing financial data for accuracy and clerical errors or discrepancies; 2) using spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel) to evaluate data; 3) generating pre-built database queries for use in analysis or reporting. OR B. Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR C. Have a combination of specialized experience as described in "A" above and more than one year of graduate education as described in "B" above, which when combined must equal at least 100% of the grade level requirement. To qualify at the grade CU-11 applicants must have one of the following: A. Have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-09 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include the following activities: 1) analyzing financial data through advanced spreadsheet and database skills; 2) analyzing facts to draw conclusions related to financial data; 3) communicating the results of financial analysis (i.e., verbally and in writing); and 4) designing queries and output reports that organize and compile financial data. OR B. Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR C. Have a combination of specialized experience as described in "A" above and more than two years of graduate education as described in "B" above, which when combined must equal at least 100 percent of the grade level requirement You must meet the qualifications for this position by the closing date of this announcement. If you are selected for this position at the CU-09 level, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next level through CU-11 provided that you have fulfilled the necessary qualification requirements including any applicable certification processes. Promotion is not automatic and is conditional on demonstrated ability to perform the higher grade level duties, a current written performance appraisal rating of "fully successful" or better, and fulfillment of the necessary qualification requirements. Due to certain COVID-19 restrictions, the following scenarios may be applicable temporarily:

-The selectee of this position may be required to temporarily perform their duties in a full-time telework or virtual capacity until we are able to resume onsite operations.

-Individuals who must relocate for this position, may be approved or required to begin work temporarily in their current geographic location prior to relocation to the permanent duty station advertised in this vacancy announcement. Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position. SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 29.06% for the Tempe, Arizona geographical area.
