USAA Risk Analyst III – Entry level (Data Solutions) in Tampa, Florida

Purpose of Job

We are seeking a talented Risk Analyst III – Entry level (Data Solutions) for our Tampa, FL facility.

Provides risk management support for a line of business or staff agency in key risk identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting, and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate practices and processes. Assess and oversee enterprise and business exposures including key and emerging risks. Monitors the risk and control environment and provides effective challenge to internal and external stakeholders to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels. Escalates and reports risks to the appropriate governance bodies.

USAA Careers

  • Supports the team in the identification, assessment, aggregation and documentation of risks and controls, including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and third-party operations.

  • Acquires knowledge of risk management principles and practices.

  • Applies foundational learning to help support the implementation of new risk policies, practices, appetites and solutions to ensure holistic understanding and management of risks according to industry best practice.

  • Assists in the process of enhancing strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks.

  • Acquires knowledge to assist in producing analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies.

  • Supports cross-functional team initiatives to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.

  • Applies foundational learning to help support the formulation of stress test plans for a line of business or the enterprise.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • A minimum of up to 2 years risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area (a total of 6 years with no degree).

  • Foundational knowledge of risk management principles, tools and applicable systems.

  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Data governance experience

  • Understanding of DMBOK principles

  • Experience in data and analytics

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Knowledge of analytical environments and tools, including cloud technologies.
